I just don't know what to call this post. I just don't. And now I do.
Anyway, I'm lazy and tired and I really need to go to bed, so I'm keeping this short: "Do You Love Me (Now That I Can Dance)" by The Contours.

Ish
"Face Down" is oldish. I mean, it's not actually old, but it's not new. I mean, it came out when that was still at the Berwick Hall. (I'm just saying "that" because I like to create a sense of mystery around myself.) That was the first and last I'd and I've ever heard of The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus.
What sort of apparatus would be made from a red jumpsuit, anyway.

It Depends...
I first heard "Don't Wanna Wait Forever" years ago. I don't know how many. But it's the only song by The Saint Alvia Cartel that I know. But it's good.
I don't know if I would want to wait forever. I suppose it depends. You know, on what it is for which I'm waiting.

MP (cont'd.)
The Mercy Playground Weekend (or is it the Weekend of Marcy Playground?) shall end thus: don't think that having heard yesterday's Marcy Playground song means you know what Marcy Playground's like, because I recently discovered this other song of theirs, and it's so completely entirely different. It's called "Good Times."
You know, like the '80s sitcom.

MP
This weekend is a special weekend, for it belongs to Marcy Playground. Yes, it is the Marcy Playground Weekend!
We'll be kicking off the weekend with the song of theirs that I've known for a long long time: "Sex and Candy."
Yes, you may be scandalized if you like.

Alice!
Whoa man! I wasn't sure how to feel about Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland," as I know and love both Alice stories, and I appreciate the differences and all. But it ended up to be so good! Also, I don't know if this song was in the film itself (although Danny Elfman did write the score) but I learned from iTunes that "Alice's Theme" is on the "Music Inspired by 'Alice in Wonderland'." And it's AWESOME!

Idea
I've been toying with the idea of featuring "Moth's Wings" for months. I mean, I already featured a song by Passion Pit, but this one's good, too. And it's really different. So ultimately, I decided I would, as you can plainly see.

I Looked It Up
I just finished writing a university paper about The Legend of Zelda.
I know!
Anyway, today it's "Genesis 3: 23" by The Mountain Goats. I don't know why it's called that. I'm pretty sure they're not some Christian band. Anyway, I was curious as to what happened in Gen. 3:23, so I looked it up. That's when Adam gets kicked out of Eden.
Now I know you're really going to listen to the lyrics when you hear that song.

I'm Back!
Yeah, the past couple of days I've been lazy and distracted and sick and a whole bunch of other stuff. But I'm back and I'm here to tell you the story of how I accidentally discovered the band Good Shoes on YouTube. Actually, that's about the whole story. I watched a video (I forget what) and for some reason it was on continuous play (which I didn't even know existed) and before I did anything some video for some song called "Morden" had started.
Morden is, incidentally, the home-town of the band. At least, that's what Wikipedia told me.

Twins
No, not Tegan and Sara. Although they are twins...
Anyway, this time it's The Cribs. They're made up of a set of twins and their cousin. Anyway, their song "Martell" was in a commercial for... Telus? Anyway, after about a year of listening to it with out noticing any particular thing, I listened to it one day and realized: the second verse is sung by a different voice than the first one. I made my sister listen to is, and she didn't believe me. I made my neighbour listen to it, and she didn't believe me. I made her listen to it again, and she said, "Oka, maybe he's singing in a slightly different tone." No, Savannah. No.
Then I checked the music video and, sure enough, I was right (of course; was there ever any doubt?). The second verse is indeed sung by a different member than the first is.
Suck it!

Must They? Must They Really?
Well, I suppose everyone must. Even the "Invaders Must Die." But that's just because everyone must die eventually. It's not because they're invaders, as The Prodigy implied with their song title. At least, that's what I inferred...

Second Song
I had a dream once. And ah, what a dream it was! The greatest I've ever had! My life was a musical... It was beautiful. And what's more, the songs in the musical that was my life were actual songs, so I actually knew the words. Although I'm sure that I would have anyway, seeing as it's my life.
Anyway, the second song in the musical that was my life was "Tango Shoes" by Bif Naked. Alicia sang it to kill two birds with one stone: break up with her jerk boyfriend who she hated, Cody; and create a diversion so that Matt and Faye could escape. And they did. Huzzah for musicals!

Actually...
When I first heard The Cliks, I thought the lead singer was a dude. And while the lead singer does go by the name Lucas, the lead singer is technically a female. Although, I also didn't get that from her picture. She identifies as a man, and so looks convincingly like one...
But I digress. Seriously, though; listen to "Oh Yeah" and you'll see -- or rather, hear -- what I'm talking about.

Not the One from Carthage
Dido was pretty cool. In Graeco-Roman mythology, she founded the city of Carthage. It was really clever how she did it, too. It involved geometry and ox hide and... well, she got a whole city. She was queen until the man she loved had to leave. When she saw his ship sailing away, she cursed him, then killed herself. I think she jumped off of... something. Her castle? Anyway, she didn't write the song "White Flag." That wasn't Dido; it was Dido.

Thought I Had
I thought I already featured this Animal Collective song, but it turns out I haven't yet featured any Animal Collective songs. So I'm doing it now. It's the first of their songs that I ever heard, and it's my favourite one. It's called "Peacebone."

Not a Real Doctor
I'm going to be honest here. At first, I didn't really like "The Old Days." I mean, I loved the old days, but I didn't much care for "The Old Days." But, I've warmed up to Dr. Dog. Or rather, I've warmed up to this one Dr. Dog song that I know...

Fear of... Is it Open Spaces? Public! I Think it's of Public Places. Or Something...
"Agoraphobia," that is. It's from the Greek Agora, which was the centre of trade, judicial work, commerce, and much more in Ancient Greek cities. Ah, how I long to see the Ancient Athenian agora...
I wonder if Deerhunter's ever been. We should ask them!

I Hope Someday Stop Haunting You
"Let's Fall Back in Love" has a bunch o' people singing, not just the two members of Slow Club. Also, the only instruments are an acoustic guitar and a tambourine. And it's so so awesome and maybe my favourite by them. Also... I had something else to say, but I forget it.

Bad Times...
That one time on the bus, this girl who frankly was a little gross came to the back and started talking to me. I was really weirded out, and trying to avoid small talk. Listening to my iPod didn't work to keep her away. Then State of Shock came on the radio, so I tried to take the conversation and said that I was glad they played that song on 89.9 (which was the station that was on) because they were among the few good bands on the station. So if you're ever in the Ottawa area, avoid 89.9; it sucks. Anyway, after my comment about "Money Honey," there was a brief awkward silence before she, unfortunately, started up again. Fortunately, we were almost in Crysler, which meant she was almost off the bus.
The aftermath of that resulted in when Katrina and I made up a great story about how we had been dating for nearly five years. Ange and Rebecca were in on it, too. It was a lot of fun, and very, very elaborate. We were kind of terrible people.

It's About Time!
I realized the other day that, with the exception of one day in the Month of Live Lounge Covers, I haven't featured a single song by The All-American Rejects. When I realized this, I was all, "Whaaaa??" Anyway, I decided to feature the first one that I knew. In grade eight it was maybe my favourite song, and I memorized all the lyrics. I wonder if Tyler and Livia would remember my renditions of "Swing Swing"........

Finally! (Though That's not Relevant)
Finally! I finally watched "Juno." And it's so good!
But that's neither here nor there when it comes to "St. Crispin's Got Our Backs."
Now, I was wondering if St. Crispin is actually a guy and yes, turns out he is. He and his brother, St. Crispinian, are patron saints of cobblers, tanners (of leather), leather workers, and... the leather subculture. You know, like in that one episode of "Arrested Development" (which, by the way, had main characters played by Jason Bateman and Michael Cera, both of whom were in "Juno"). In the third century (the 200s) they preached Christianity to Gauls by day and made shoes by night. You know, until Rictus Varus tortured and beheaded them. Ah, well. A day in the life.
Anyway, I wonder if The All New Adventures of Us talked at all about that...

Joyful Amputation
What I want to know is, how do you Cut Off Your Hands? I mean, if you've already cut off one hand, how do you hold the blade to cut off your other hand? How does it become plural? If I found out the answer, I suppose I would be "Happy As Can Be."

Two! Three! Four!
For the longest time, "Do You Realize??" was the only song by The Flaming Lips that I knew. I certainly know more now, but this one's still my favourite. It's also been on a lot of commercials...
And yes, two question marks.

This one has a bit of a long name. It's "Concerto for Viola and String Orchestra IV, Presto" by Georg Philipp Telemann. And I actually really like it, so shut up!

And I'm
Apparently this song is from some obscure musical that I've never heard of, but it's been covered by a lot of peeps. My Brightest Diamond did it for "Dark Was the Night." I didn't really like "Feeling Good" at first, but I really warmed up to it.

With a Side of Gravy
The only reason I know the song "Diner" is because it was on an episode of "Scrubs." In fact, that's the only reason I know Martin Sexton at all.
