Another One of Those

The song "Knotty Pine," that Dirty Projectors did with David Byrne for "Dark Was the Night," is another one of those songs that I didn't really like, but then I actually listened to it in full, and realized it's pretty good!

At least, I think it's five. There's, fungi, single-cell organisms... something else... Plants and Animals. Five Kingdoms. Right? Yeah, I think so.
But that's neither here nor there. Nor there (I'm pointing to a different spot now). "The Mama Papa." It was a free iTunes download, then a single. And for good reason, too.

You know what's pretty much impossible? Finding a picture of Casa di Mondo. Yeah. That's right.
But finding their song "Out with the Old" is less impossible.

And now, today's song! It's by a band called A B & the Sea. Not ABC. Sea, not C, you see? So we're clear on this now? Grood. I mean good. And great. Great and good.
The song is a pretty lovely thing called "Shine in the Shade."

A Day After

I didn't post a song yesterday. Maybe I was "Spellbound" by eight hours of Buffy and Angel. BAHAHAHAHA!!! I'm so funny!
No, but seriously. My sister and I watched seasons seven and four for eight hours yesterday. It was fantastic.
Anyway, Doves is the band.

Dies

When someone important dies, like a royal or something, you're supposed to have your national flags at "Half Mast." I haven't listened to the words, but I wonder if that's what the Empire of the Sun song is about.

Anyway, "German Studies" by The Breeders. I don't remember how it goes, but I do remember it being pretty kind of awesome. I guess it kind of maybe might be slightly sort of almost nearly somewhat rather fairly relatively awesome? No, it rocks!

Yes, this is from Jukebox the Ghost's exciting new album! It's a truly fantastic record, called "Everything Under the Sun." It was actually the cause for some frustration when I saw, at an HMV in Toronto, a label that said, "Jukebox the Sun." I should have said something...

Just

I just realized how awesome this song is yesterday, even though I've known it for quite a while. Several months, at least. It's called "Let Loose the Horses," and it's by this amazing band called The Rescues (not The Rescuers).

Apologies, dear reader(s) (I'm being realistic, and accepting that there likely should be no S on the end of that word). I've been gone. Exams. Moving. That kind of stuff.

So! I'm bringing us back with a weekend. Ketchum Weekend. I decided to call it that because I'm bored and it's a weekend of Ash Koley (apparently a band, not a singer, and also apparently Canadian; w00t!) and Ash like Ash Ketchum.
Anyway!
I don't know how I know "Brighter at Night." Was it a free iTunes download? I want to say it's one from Starbucks, but I might just be making up memories...

Good song! But tomorrow's, which in my research I discovered was on So You Think You Can Dance but that's not how I know it, I think, is better.

Newbies

Foster the People are kind of a brand new band, I think. Live 88.5 has started their song "Pumped Up Kicks," as I've learned from Caitlin. It's pretty phantasmagorical. If that word means what I think it means, that is.

Sunnydale

Imaginary Cities is the band. I tried to think up a good imaginary city -- I arrived at Buffy Summers' hometown of Sunnydale. Because I'm awesome like that.
And I suppose it's fitting. Well, in a very roundabout way, which I will now explain:
Buffy Summers, as the Slayer, spends lots of time in graveyards. Well, in the graveyard in Sunnydale.
Graveyard, also known as cemetery.
In a Hot Hot Heat song, they mention the flowers left in cemeteries for ghosts, but which only the hummingbirds enjoy.
The song I'm featuring is called "Hummingbirds."
There you go. Roundabout connections. Huzzah!

Know

In January, at one of our dress rehearsals, I learned that Drew (who played Jay) is in a band. He's the lead singer, I think.
Ernyway, they're called Patrons of Science (formerly, I think, The Fringe). They pretty awesome. In fact, they so awesome, I forgot to say "are."
Hanyway, the song I want you to track down online is called "Loosey Lucy."

English

In the English version of Digimon, specifically in series two, the song "Run Around" plays. When I looked it up to find out what it was called, I learned that it was by one Jasan Radford of the band Onesidezero. However, in my research I found no evidence otherwise of him having done anything independent from his band. So I don't know...

Exams

I hate exams. I really do. And I'm preoccupied with studying for the one I have tomorrow, so I'm not really focused on this. But I'll tell you, "Walk Around the Lake" by Lost in the Trees. And that it's an awesome song. Je l'aime tellement!
