Apologies

Apologies, dear reader(s) (I'm being realistic, and accepting that there likely should be no S on the end of that word). I've been gone. Exams. Moving. That kind of stuff.
Anyway!
So! I'm bringing us back with a weekend. Ketchum Weekend. I decided to call it that because I'm bored and it's a weekend of Ash Koley (apparently a band, not a singer, and also apparently Canadian; w00t!) and Ash like Ash Ketchum.
Anyway!
I don't know how I know "Brighter at Night." Was it a free iTunes download? I want to say it's one from Starbucks, but I might just be making up memories...
Anyway!
Good song! But tomorrow's, which in my research I discovered was on So You Think You Can Dance but that's not how I know it, I think, is better.

Probably Shouldn't

We probably shouldn't talk, 'cause talking leads to thinking... Fortunately, I don't agree with this idea presented by The Narrative in their song "Fade." I like thinking. And talking. Even to myself. It accentuates and reinforces my thinking.

Unexpected

It's the Unexpected Weekend!!!! YAY!!!!! (Because I didn't expect to be doing a weekend.)
Anyway, when you hear a good song on a commercial and you can't seem to figure out who it is or what it's called, sometimes it helps to go to the company's website. Example: Joe Fresh has really good music in their commercials. But we couldn't figure out what this one song was. In an act of desperation, my sister went to the Joe Fresh website, which revealed that the song was called "Lightning Don't Strike Twice" by Emilie Mover, who I think is Canadian (I mean, look how she French-ly spells her name). w00t!
It even let her download the song free. d0uble-w00t!

Already

Now, I know I just did a week last week, but I'm doing a weekend this weekend already. a Jeremy Fisher weekend, specifically.
I'm starting with the Jeremy Fisher song I've known the longest, which is really probably less than a year before the other ones I know. It's called "Cigarette." I had to explain to Eric that it's awfully metaphorical, and that Jeremy Fisher doesn't actually want to be smoked as a cigarette. I guess Eris can't catch things like that.

Continuing

Yesterday I had a reprisal. A reprisal of three songs, previously featured. I would like to take this weekend, which I will call the Continuing Weekend, to feature different songs by each of those. Because they're all great, and I've only featured one song by each of those.
First, Florence + the Machine. The song is "Kiss With a Fist." I find it's awfully upbeat for a song about an abusive relationship. But that's part of what makes it great!

I'll bet she's an amazing performer.

Weekend? What?

Yeah, that's right. This has never been done before: a weekend within a week within a month. In the Month of Musicals, finishing off the Stephen Sondheim Week is the Weekend of Shows I've Been In. Yes, I've only been in two shows. But they're both Sondheim shows!

We'll do them chronologically. In grade 11, I was in a local theatre group's 100th show, which was West Side Story. It was a really great show. And I've decided to share the song "America" with you.

Donovan Weekend

Well, I had my last exam yesterday; I'm all done first year!
This weekend will be the Donovan Weekend. We're kicking it off with "Jabberwocky." It's his song-ized version of the awesome Lewis Carroll poem from the awesome story Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There, which was wrongly recited by Johnny Depp in the nonetheless awesome film.

This weekend is a special weekend, for it belongs to Marcy Playground. Yes, it is the Marcy Playground Weekend!
We'll be kicking off the weekend with the song of theirs that I've known for a long long time: "Sex and Candy."

Canada1

Here we are: the non-afore-mentioned Canada's Weekend! I guess it's in celebration of the awesomeness of Canada, and tat the Olympics are here right now. We're starting off with a song by an American band, The Thermals. But the song is called "Canada." It was free on iTunes. And I'm glad, 'cause it's great!

Fighting a Dragon

So, I recently became acquainted with a band called I Fight Dragons. As a result, I'm introducing, one time only, an I Fight Dragons Weekend! This is our second-ever Weekend. Not our second weekend, of course, but our second Weekend. Anyway, the song today has a controversial title:
"No One Likes Superman Anymore."

Left Lower Leg

So, I wanted to do a song by The Shins, but I needed to decide which one. I narrowed it down to two, and couldn't pick between them, so I decided to have a The Shins Weekend. Yup, that's right! Two songs in two days. Saturday and Sunday.
