Twins

No, not Tegan and Sara. Although they are twins...
Anyway, this time it's The Cribs. They're made up of a set of twins and their cousin. Anyway, their song "Martell" was in a commercial for... Telus? Anyway, after about a year of listening to it with out noticing any particular thing, I listened to it one day and realized: the second verse is sung by a different voice than the first one. I made my sister listen to is, and she didn't believe me. I made my neighbour listen to it, and she didn't believe me. I made her listen to it again, and she said, "Oka, maybe he's singing in a slightly different tone." No, Savannah. No.
Then I checked the music video and, sure enough, I was right (of course; was there ever any doubt?). The second verse is indeed sung by a different member than the first is.

Suck it!

A New One

So I just got Tegan and Sara's new album, "Sainthood," for Christmas. It's so good! So I decided to go with my favourite song from the album. I'm not going with the first single, though it is good. My favourite song from the album is in fact "Northshore."

Stalker Song

Okay, so I realize that, if you listen to the lyrics in "The Con" by Tegan and Sara, it sounds like a major stalker song. She writes him back before he even writes her; she listens in on.... whatever; she says that nobody likes her, but they might if she cries. But this song is so absolutely incredible.

"The Con" is the title track on Tegan and Sara's latest album, which is available on both CD and vinyl. One thing that I love about the song is that the twins' voices seem to blend into one, which doesn't happen super often with their songs.

Also, I realize I said "him" when talking about the other person; that is just instinct. Tegan Quin and Sara Quin are in fact, as you may well already know, lesbians. But honestly, does that really matter? Their music is so awesome!
